About The Home Hearth Co.

Hi, I'm the person behind The Home Hearth Co.

I've been canning, fermenting, and gardening for years — not as a hobby I picked up for content, but as part of how my family actually eats and stocks our pantry. This site exists because I got tired of how scattered and confusing most food preservation information online is. Half of it is outdated, half of it skips the actual safety reasoning, and almost none of it is written by someone who's actually done the thing they're explaining.

Everything here is written from real experience, tested in my own kitchen, and explained the way I'd explain it to a friend standing next to me at the stove — including the why behind the rules, not just a list of steps to follow blindly.

What you'll find here:

Practical guides on home canning, fermentation, gardening, and food storage — written for people who want to actually do this themselves, not just read about it. Some posts are quick references you can print and pin to your pantry door. Others walk through a full process start to finish.

What you won't find here:

Vague claims, recycled advice from a dozen other blogs, or content padded out just to hit a word count. If a topic can be covered honestly in 500 words, it's 500 words.

If you want the full printable guides and templates I've built around these topics — the kind of thing you can keep on hand permanently instead of bookmarking a blog post — you'll find those in my Etsy shop.

Whether you're putting up your first jar of jam or building a pantry full of home-canned meals, I'm glad you're here.
