Companion planting advice online is a mix of solid, documented science and pure garden folklore repeated for decades without evidence. This tool flags which is which where it can, instead of just saying “plant together” with no explanation.

A Note on the Evidence

Some companion planting claims — like the Three Sisters (corn, beans, squash) or planting alliums near carrots — hold up under real scrutiny. Others are traditional wisdom passed down without much research behind them. I try to flag the difference in the reasoning above rather than presenting everything as equally proven.
